Life-size rescue operation

With the agreement of RIVE PRIVATE INVESTMENT, which has several wind farms for which SEPALE acts as president and operator, a large-scale operation in order to test and improve emergency management procedures was carried out on May 25 and 26 at Diou in the Indre region.

The 5-machine Nordex wind farm in Aubigeon (12.5 MW) welcomed teams from SDIS36, NORDEX and SEPALE for two days of coordinated rescue exercises in real-life conditions.

Communication, procedures, responsiveness and safety equipment were tested in accident scenarios: a technician breaks his arm in the hub of a wind turbine / a technician falls from the ladder used to climb to the roof of the nacelle.

Exercises to validate and modify emergency management procedures, improve collaboration between all stakeholders and make it easier for the firefighter to intervene.

The feedback from this operation and the new provisions that will result from it will be applied to all RIVE PRIVATE INVESTMENT wind farms, as well as to the entire portfolio operated or chaired by SEPALE (around 290 MW).

The safety challenges of wind farms require everyone’s investment.

We would like to thank RIVE PRIVATE INVESTMENT, Nordex and SDIS36 for their involvement and perfect collaboration, which helped make this operation a success.
